Enhancing and protecting the history and natural beauty of Warkworth's Mahurangi River

The 'Riverbank Enhancement Group' was formed in 1995 in response to the Rodney District Council removing a deteriorated wharf.
It was devised to represent the communities wishes and enhance the natural and historic value of Warkworths association with the Mahurangi River.
Members of the 'Riverbank Enhancement Group' are comprised of representatives from; Lions, Rotary, Warkworth Area Business Association, Warkworth Liaison Group and locals with an invested interest in the region.
The present wharf and walkway is an example of the Riverbank Enhancement Group's achievements through community fund-raising and liaising with Council and locals. And these goals continue as funds and energy permit. The groups current goals can be found on the 'Projects' page.
